During a press conference on Wednesday, Cam Newton was asked a question by a female sports commentator, in which he replied with, “funny to hear a female talk about routes.”
To some, the initial comment was a little… sexist, since we all know how men feel about women in sports, but he did give a legit and real response to her question. Like he would with a man commentator. Either way, the women of social media were not having it. Even Dannon, the yogurt company, pulled their endorsement from Cam Newton over the comment. Well as of Friday morning, Cameron released a sincere apology over the comment. Was the apology needed? HELL NO! nothing wrong was said. He was simply shocked that a female knew about routes. "Okay lil mama! Let me find out...!" is what I heard lmao! People need to stop being so sensitive. What do you think?
f you haven’t heard, the Fast and the Furious franchise won’t be returning to theaters until 2020. This came as a shock to many since the original release date was 2019. Well Tyrese wanted to let us know, that The Rock is to blame for the delay. According to Tyrese, the new movies will focus around The Rock’s character, Hobbs.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gibson may be upset that the rumored spinoff movie, that will reportedly star Johnson’s Lucas Hobbs character and Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, is getting fast-tracked ahead of the ninth movie. However, the outlet also notes that the film may have been pushed back in an effort to court director Justin Lin, who may be returning to the franchise. Sadly, it’s unclear at this time as Universal Pictures has not made a statement on the matter other than to push the release date of “F9.”
Atlanta Mayor has signed a legislation that will lower the penalties on possession of small amounts of maraijuana. The legislation reduces the penalty for possessing an ounce or less of pot in the city from $1,000 to $75 and eliminates jail time under those circumstances. I know the people of Atlanta are too happy! Police are looking deeper into the shooting that occurred in Las Vegas Sunday night, killing 58 people and injuring more than 500. No big founds have been made yet, so we have no motive, but small amounts of information have been given.
Stephen Paddock was a 64-year-old retired accountant, who lived about 80 miles from Vegas. The shooting is not being seen as an overseas terrorist attack, and authorities say its too early to tell if it was an act of domestic terrorism. According to CNN, for an act to be considered terrorism, it must appear that it was intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, or try to influence political change. Once inside the gunman’s hotel room, police recovered 23 weapons. In his home, at least 19 guns were found, along with explosives and several thousand rounds of ammunition. In his car, several pounds of ammonium nitrate were found, a material used to make explosives. All guns found were legally purchased. The shooters brother says he was an avid gambler, but had no history of violence. “No history of anything — couldn’t give a s*** less about politics, religion, pointy hatted people, etc, etc. He just wanted to get a freaking royal flush.” What is interesting is that the shooter’s father, Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, was on the FBI Most Wanted List from 1969-1977 for bank robbery. The FBI described him as, “diagnosed as psychopathic” and an individual reported to have “suicidal tendencies” who “has carried firearms in commission of bank robberies.” More details as they come. Talk of Trump’s impeachment has been going around seeming like since he was elected. The talk has increased lately with how Trump has decided to handle the aftermath of recent hurricane victims in Houston and Puerto Rico, and the NFL national anthem protest. Well it looks like this week was suppose to be judgement week for Trump. Texas Rep. Al Green planned to file paperwork for Trump’s impeachment, but decided to wait due to the Las Vegas shooting that took place on Sunday. According to Fox News, Green said on the House floor that there is a time for all things but right now is a time to mourn. “Impeachment is postponed. … Let us mourn. Let us heal,” said Green. Green has spoken on his thoughts towards Trump saying, “I rise to denounce these comments that have been made because they have brought discourse to a new low. I will stand here in the well of the Congress and I will call for the impeachment of the president.” Fox New reports, New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee where impeachment proceedings typically begin, told The Hill in response to Green’s threat: “We’re not there yet,” despite Trump having done “really terrible things.” Nadler thinks the impeachment process would be too soon, and would have better effect later down the line saying, ”We don’t have the evidence. We don’t have the case. … You don’t want to discredit it by voting for impeachment resolutions before you have the facts.” The Las Vegas shooting has becoming the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, killing 58 people, and injured another 500+.
