I am a HUGE fan of HBO's show, Ballers! The show is executively produced by Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) and Mark Wahlberg, with The Rock as the main character. He plays a retired NFL player who is now crossing over into the business side as a financial manager. John David Washington, Denzel Washington's son, plays Ricky, an NFL player and friend of Johnson's character. The show features actual NFL players making cameos. Ive been following this show since season 1 so I am locked in! Check it out:

It has recently come to my attention that not everyone has jump on the SZA train. Who is SZA you may be asking? (And no, not RZA lol, but SZA) She is the first lady of TDE (Top Dawg Ent.), the label that houses Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q, Ab-Soul and more. With a line up like this beside her, you know she has to be something crazy! And amazing! I'd say most people first hopped on her wave when her "Love Galore" video with Travis Scott dropped. Her sexy, unbothered, and honest way of music had a lot of us won over to her side. Now ladies, this is a woman we must protect! With songs like "Drew Barrymore" and "Broken Clocks", she speaks right from our hearts, I promise you. R&B may be coming back with a little change in sound. With artists like SZA, Jhene Aiko and Rihanna, I have faith. If you are just now catching wind of her this year, like myself, you have a little catching up to do. I suggest you listen to her past EPs, See.SZA.Run, S, and, Z. She has also worked with artist like Chance the Rapper, 50 Cent and Isaiah Rashad. Co-writing and being featured on "Consideration", a song on Rihanna's Anti album. Who else has she written for? Nicki Minaj and Beyonce with "Feeling Myself". In April, she announced signing a new contract with RCA. SZA is only 26-years-old coming out of Jersey. She signed to TDE in 2013, after which she released her third EP, Z. She did go to college wanting to be a marine biologist (yasss sis!), she attended 3 colleges, but says in her freshman year she "got high and failed out", which I'm sure some people can relate to lol She was recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live! performing her new singles and announced her debut album, Ctrl, which will be out on June 9th!
21 Savage is Back!
In the past year, 21 Savage became a hip hop XXL Freshman who dropped his collab EP with Metro Boomin, Savage Mode, which he received 2 platinum plaques from with "X" featuring Future and "No Heart". He then sign a record deal to Epic, and at the time, L.A. Reid. Now 21 is back with a new single and a video to match, "All The Smoke". After tweeting out the date "6-1-17", we now see what the surprise is. The video is quite a scary scene with a Jason-like killer stalking teens in the woods, as 21 raps from some bleachers. I had to watch the video twice; once for the video and another time to really listen to the song, but the song is definitely something I'm liking!
This week August teased a clip of his upcoming interview with his "favorite person on planet Earth" Jada Pinkett-Smith. August is back and ready to talk in his upcoming sit down with Jada Pinkett-Smith about his recent coma, life experiences from his childhood and past, and reveals he has a liver disease. No word on when exactly the interview will air or be released but its sure to answer many question that fans have about recent events. Now we have a new song with August entitled, "Don't Matter". Check it out!
Meek Mill is trying to make a comeback with his new single, "Whatever You Need" featuring Chris Brown and Ty Dolla Sign. I actually like the track, something you will rarely hear me say about Meek. Its the first song that Meek isn't yelling in my ear. The funny thing about this song being released is that DJ Luke Nasty is mad that Meek stole his sound from his single, "OTW". Luke has since deleted some of his Twitter and Instagram post in which he said Ty Dolla turned him down to get on the "OTW Remix". The question is now, will Meek, Chris or Ty Dolla reply to Luke. I don't see it happening but we shall see. If anyone should be mad, it should be Tony Toni Tone. |
